As a Playground Coordinator you will be supporting disabled young people and their families by coordinating the delivery of play services at the Lady Allen Playground.  The role involves:

  • Coordinating and delivering a high quality play service for disabled children and their families.
  • Managing a flexible sessional workforce
  • Supporting the manager and acting as manager in their absence
  • A requirement to work unsociable hours including evenings and weekends.
  • A requirement to work from a second playground site (Chelsea Playground) on occasion
  • Being the sole manager on site during play sessions
  • Health and safety and safeguarding principles
  • Using ICT skills to effectively and efficiently complete work
  • Managing a dynamic work environment

You will need strong organisational skills, significant experience of working with disabled children in a play setting and the ability to engage and support children in a variety of play experiences without supervision.

KIDS welcomes applications from disabled people or people with lived experience of disability. A DBS check will be required for this role.

Hampstead Heath Adventure Clubhouse and One O’clock Club

We are looking for play workers for our friendly and welcoming play centres on Hampstead Heath. 


Hours: p/t, as and when required but mainly afternoons (14.15 – 17.15) during term time, Saturdays (9.30-16.30) and school holidays (times vary).
Salary: £13.40/hr

We run an Adventure Playground and Clubhouse for children aged 5 – 16 and a One O’clock Club for children under-5 and their carers.  Activities include free play, sports and art and crafts. The primary responsibility will be the delivery of high quality play activities which promoting participation, inclusion and wellbeing. You’ll support children to follow their own ideas and interests for play as well as leading a variety of interesting and fun play activities.

The successful candidate will have some experience of working with children and young people, experience of working in a team, and an understanding of a child-centred approach to activities.

Application Guidance for Candidates


We’re looking for a Lead Youth Worker to join our friendly small team at our adventure playground in Bow, London.

You’ll be responsible for creating, planning and leading the delivery of high quality, inclusive play programme at the only Housing Association run adventure playground in the country. You’ll be the first point of contact for beneficiaries and families; oversee the work of the part time pay workers; uphold safeguarding, security, child safety and wellbeing policies and support both internal and external project/partnership activities.

One of your main priorities will be overseeing adventure playground staff in delivering a high quality play service that enriches the lives of local children and their families.

You’ll have experience of implementing play principles within a delivery framework with a recognised play qualification – minimum NVQ Level 3 Play work or equivalent. You’ll have good knowledge of building maintenance of adventure play structures, and overall site management.
